    Q - Which type of AC cable (wire) should I use for the home run?
    A -When connecting to the grid, all the Power-One AC cables coming from MICRO inverters must be joined inside a junction box.A single line cable must then form the connection to the distribution grid.
    Be particularly mindful of the dimensions of the line cable. The grounding connection from the inverters is obligatory.
    The AC cable used is quadrupole


    Q - How should I characterise and size the line cable (home run)?
    A - The line cable (not supplied from Power-One) runs between the junction box and the load distribution panel.
    The cross-section of the AC line conductor must be sized in order to prevent unwanted disconnections of the inverter from the grid due to high impedance of the line that connects the inverter to the power supply point. If the impedance is too high, it causes an increase in the AC voltage that, on reaching the limit set by the country of installation, causes the inverter to switch OFF.

    Fasten the AC-TRUNK cable to the frame with cable ties. Each connector is provided with two guides for ideal fastening. Cable ties are not supplied with the inverter or AC-TRUNK cable. Use cable ties that are rated for use in the installation location.

    Remove the temporary cap from AC-TRUNK cable connectors and then connect the MICRO inverters. The connectors are coupled correctly when two clicks are heard.
    Be mindful to keep the connectors in a position accessible to the AC-TRUNK cable coming from the MICRO inverter.


    Protect any unused AC-TRUNK cable connectors by fitting the AC-TRUNK PLUG CAP on them to keep them watertight.
    The temporary caps are only fitted for shipping and provide no seal whatsoever!

I encourage the builder to get the (Detailed) installation sheets from Power One’s web site. SET UP I uncoiled the, custom cut to length, Trunk Cable, was amazed how tough the cable is, how thick the 10 Gage copper wires are. Only POWER-ONE Aurora Trunk Cables are 10 Gage. Other brands offer 12 and even 14 Gage wire. TOO THIN for adequate power transmission. POWER-ONE Aurora Trunk Cables will transmit all the power from all the inverters on the line. I trimmed and exposed the indicated length of copper for the End Cap. Inserting the ends into the End Cap REQUIORED careful trimming of the wire ends. After I had them tamed the cable inserted with firm pressure. It is never coming off. If you suspect you Might need to attach more cable, buy two or more end caps, you won’t be pulling these off by hand. I have 8 PV Panels so no need for the Rubber Caps. The Inverter locked into the Trunk Cable easily. The Unlock Tool is REQUIORED. It unlocked well enough. Upon final Completion I’ll be using a Dielectric to block oxidation. As the inverter/Trunk Cable contacts are GOLD, there is no reason to add a conductive gel. I used a custom 240vac UPS and a box fan as a substitution for utility grid voltage, and for the power load. (NEVER ATTACH TO HOME POWER UNTILL APPROVED.) I attached the Trunk Cable to the inverted and to the ISOLATED UPS. During testing I found that measurable power was the same over the length of the cable. (No Loss) I’m pleased with my choice of POWER-ONE Aurora Micro Inverters and the POWER-ONE Aurora MICRO AC DROP Cable.. I’m pleased that the inverters/cable, and the CDD cost less at RENVU as a system, than other options.
